Hi, my name is Kayla Breen, and I am a Boarding Care Team Member at Knoll Animal Hospital. I am passionate about providing high-quality care and helping my patients feel comfortable and confident in their treatment.
Personal Hobbies and Interests
Outside of work, I love going out with my family and friends, playing sports and games, traveling, and blasting the same songs over and over again in the car. At home I have three incredibly sweet and very spoiled cats — Kami and Teddy, who are biological siblings, and Ralphie, who is always on the hunt — as well as a sweet and energetic Golden Retriever named Miles.
Favorite Part of My Job
My favorite part of the job is providing love and care for animals, and learning so much while getting to play with adorable patients.
Why I Chose This Profession
I have always had a strong passion and love for all animals — working with them feels like second nature to me. I have cared for and been surrounded by animals for as long as I can remember, through my mom's business and my personal life, and I plan to continue doing so for the rest of my life. I also love this animal hospital and all the care and kindness it provides, and I am excited for everything new I will continue to learn here.
Education
I attended the College of DuPage from 2022 to 2024 before beginning to work full time.
Professional Background
My professional interests include food safety and the overall well-being of every pet in my care, along with assisting with medication, saline, and surgeries.
Work History
I previously worked for other chains while maintaining a steady side gig walking dogs and caring for cats. As a pet sitter with Deanna's Petsitting Service, I cared for animals from the comfort of their own homes.
