Hi, my name is Cynthia Lopez, and I am a Veterinary Assistant at Knoll Animal Hospital. I am passionate about providing high-quality care and helping the animals in our care feel comfortable and well looked after.
Personal Hobbies and Interests
Outside of work, I like to read, do puzzles, and hang out with friends. At home, I have a dog named Ella. When my family went to the shelter to adopt, we were looking for a boy and spotted a small, scrawny puppy in a blue collar. The shelter let us know she was actually a girl who had been separated from her two sisters after they kept beating on her and hurt her face. We decided to bring her home and named her Ella, after Cinderella.
Why I Chose This Profession
While I am new to the veterinary field, caring for animals has always been part of my life. In my old town, my family was known as the "stray cat neuters" — we took in as many cats as we could to have them neutered and would sometimes house them ourselves.
Education
I attended the University of Illinois at Chicago from 2019 to 2022, where I majored in biology and earned my associate degree. I left school to work and help provide for my family during the COVID pandemic.
Professional Background
I hold the Fear Free Veterinary Professional Certification.
